Together with Kassen Merkl GmbH, Europe’s leading provider of software solutions for cash logistics and POS has now developed a POS display that can also be operated perfectly by people with impaired vision without the need for complex configurations. The “ITR POS solution” offers employees with special needs a clearly designed checkout interface with the most important functions for bakeries such as:

for a clear payment process.
In accordance with the needs of the visually impaired, ALVARA | Digital Solutions and Kassen Merkl designed the interface as well as the keys to be large, clearly structured and to have a very high-contrast in primary and complementary colors. The design of the checkout display can be customized.
“For the best possible implementation, we were in close exchange with a workshop for the disabled, which supported us in defining the requirements. Thus, with the adjustments, we succeeded in optimally designing the checkout display for the needs of a wide range of visually impaired people,” explains ALVARA | Digital Solutions Managing Director Steven Schwarznau. The checkout process can thus be handled quickly, easily and efficiently. The clear, optimized and intuitive interface of the tailor-made checkout solution saves employees time and reduces the lines at the counter. “People with disabilities thus have the same opportunities in the job market.
